In line with the Department of Education’s (DoE) Future Focused Learning and Teaching Strategy, I’ve made sure that my classroom is ready to cater for the diverse learning styles and needs within it. I have adapted a range of effective teaching strategies which prepare my students to thrive in this rapidly changing and interconnected world.

I encourage and inspire students to be leaders of their own learning; encouraging them to use the 6 C’s of Education

Learning modes in my classroom

In line with the Department of Education’s (DoE) Future Focused Learning and Teaching Strategy, I’ve made sure that my classroom is ready to cater for the diverse learning styles and needs within it. I have adapted a range of effective teaching strategies which prepare my students to thrive in this rapidly changing and interconnected world.

I encourage and inspire students to be leaders of their own learning; encouraging them to use the 6 C’s of Education

Critical Thinking – Collaboration – Communication – Creativity – Character Education- Citizenship/Culture

I have been successful in developing these skills within my students/teams by providing a learning environment in which the DoE Learning Modes are central. Students collaborate and learn together and also have opportunities to discuss, reflect, and provide constructive feedback. They are encouraged to demonstrate their learning in their preferred individual learning style. Learners direct their own learning and also, learn from an expert in an explicit and specific learning space and capacity. Individuals undertake experiential learning, allowing them to be critical and creative thinkers and have opportunities to work both independently and in a guided capacity.

Technology enables seamless collaboration in classroom

To support this strategy, I also ensure that my classroom space and furniture can be easily transitioned, allowing each mode the opportunity to achieve its highest possible outcome. See my next blog post on how I arrange classroom furniture to support the DoE Future Focused Strategy.
